We couldn't
understand why there were patches of froth on the fields near the
cliffs. It turned out that the wind was so strong that it was blowing
foam off the sea hundreds of feet below and bringing it up and over
the cliffs onto the fields.
We decided to
follow the coast path back to John o' Groats harbour and we are
glad we did because as we were walking round the bay at the other
side of the Head we spotted more seals. It soon became obvious that
there were at least three families of seals in the bay who were
bobbing about just off shore watching us watching them watching
us….. We sat there for a while looking at them through the binoculars.
