A typical limestone
village, Litton is a quiet backwater with a large central green, surrounded
by fields and farms. There is a pub and a small shop but little else other
than the houses of the villagers and a sense of tranquility.
It is, however, an
excellent base to start a number of walks in the area, for example into
the dales of Litton Dale, Millers Dale and Monsal Dale.
In the Spring the
green is filled with the waving yellow heads of daffodils.
