Most of today was occupied
with a tour around some of the sights of Montreal. We spent a couple of
hours in the Botanical Gardens. There was time later in the day to amble
around the "Downtown" area and to do some souvenier shopping.
This tug is the earliest to
have worked these waters, now preserved here on the Lachine Canal.
We stopped at this excellent
cycle shop and, of course, we couldn't leave without buying something!
If only we had cycle facilities
like this in the UK!
The strange looking tower is
across the road from the Botanical Gardens supporting the roof of the
Olympic Stadium.
The
Japanese Garden was perhaps the most photogenic area in the Botanical Gardens,
although all of it was well worth the visit.
Montreal Youth Hostel (on the
right) is situated just outside the city centre.
And as the sun sinks slowly
in the west....
The following day was spent
doing some more shopping in the morning then cycling out to the airport
to catch our flight home. An eventful flight, as it turned out, but that's
another story!
